Wing Christmas Carols-

21 Dec 2018

“We won’t go until we get some,

We won’t go until we get some,

We won't go until we get some, so bring some out here!”

160 Cadets and Staff from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight wing joined together in song to celebrate the Christmas Season and raise some festive Cheer. Whilst they didn’t get the figgy pudding they’d just sung about, all were amply rewarded with mince pies and biscuits for their efforts!

Squadron-by-Squadron cadets arrived at Wing Headquarters to collect their carol sheets and blue santa hats!

Once everyone was gathered together, Wing Commander Mark Trevena opened the evening with a short welcome before handing over to Rev Phil Hiscock and members of the Wing Band to lead everyone through a number of carols, prayers and readings. It’s not often that cadets get to meet with other cadets from across the area; it was brilliant that everyone could get together for a bit of festive fun.

This year Hampshire and IOW Wing chose to support the Planet Radio Mission Christmas by donating brand new toys in order to make a difference to a disadvantaged child on Christmas Day. With blue Santa hats and gift in arm… our cadets looked rather like elves too!
