Squadron Leader and above; - Senior officers' single quarters
Flight Lieutenant and below - Junior Officers' single quarters

 

Single Accommodation Airmen
Rank Type
Warrant Officer Single bedroom with en suite provision*
Senior NCOs Single bedroom with en suite provision*
Corporals and airmen Single bedrooms or dormitories (Priority for allocation of single bedrooms is managed locally)

*Note that JSP464 refers to Single Living Accommodation as 'eligibility' rather than entitlement to the different rules. Priority for allocation of SLAM or better quality accommodation is managed locally.

Officers' Families Accommodation

The following table indicates the type of accommodation provided and the ranks of the officers to which this Service Families Accommodation (SFA) will normally be allocated. All accommodation is classified to the most appropriate type according to the overall floor area of each accommodation and the accommodation amenities provided. No change will be made in the classification of any accommodation without prior approval by the MOD.

Notes:
Flight lieutenants and below with 3 or more children are eligible to be allocated a Type IV family quarter.

Stn Cdrs are normally provided with an official residence, but an unmarried stn cdr may live either in a mess or in the Service Families Accommodation if one is provided.

Airmens' Families Accommodation

The following table indicates the type of accommodation provided and the ranks and/or family size of airmen to which Service Family Accommodation (SFA) will normally be allocated. Where appropriate Service Families Accommodation is not available within a reasonable timescale, a family may be allocated Substitute Service Families Accommodation. This is a privately rented property for which the Service person will pay normal SFA rent.
