Business Start-Up Programme

Business Start-Up Programme (Sep 2013-19)

•    Funded by Armed Forces Covenant (LIBOR) fund and HSBC.
•    Free to dependants of all three services.
•    Developed specifically for the Armed Forces.
•    Dependents of Regulars, Veterans and Reserves are eligible.

The 10 month programme consists of:

•    A residential business start-up course totalling four days.
•    A seven month mentoring programme including individual sessions with a business adviser (face-to-face, telephone or Skype) and group sessions with other Service Dependents led by business advisers at Wolverhampton Business Solutions Centre.

Dates for the Residential Element:

•    Cyprus 21-22 and 24-25 September 2015;
•    Wolverhampton 14-15 October and 18-19 November 2015;
•    Aldershot 5-6 November and 9-10 December 2015;
•    Wolverhampton 13-14 January and 10-11 February 2016;
•    Germany 2-3 March and 6-7 April 2016;
•    Wolverhampton 11-12 May and 8-9 June 2016

The residential element includes:

•    Market Research.
•    Marketing.
•    Law and Legislation.
•    Business Planning.
•    Cash Flow and Profit.
•    Balance Sheets.
•    Break-even.
•    Financial Forecasting.
•    Tax, National Insurance and VAT.
•    Keeping Records
