SFA - Who does what

22 Jul 2017

We all recognise the importance of Service Family Accommodation (SFA) to our personnel and their families and recognise also the significant change and issues that have occurred within the housing arena over the past 2 years.

These range from the introduction of CAAS and the Decent Homes standard as well as performance issues with the National Housing Prime (NHP) contract.  In all this, many have agreed that the maelstrom of change has potentially created confusion as to which organisation or person has responsibility for different aspects of accommodation.

To address this, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) has created a short video - "We all have a part to play" which is available on the intranet and YouTube.  The video illustrates the responsibilities of everyone – Service families, MoD, CarillionAmey, Front-Line Commands and DIO – when it comes to accommodation.  It helps reaffirm who is responsible for what and ensure that comments and queries related to SFA are directed to the right area.  This should help to avoid some of the delays which happen when requests are sent to the wrong team.
