Ex DRAGONS BREATH 19 was a UK Specialist Counter Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (C-CBRN) exercise conducted between the UK and Cyprus in the Autumn of 2019.
The 7-week exercise saw 27 Sqn RAF Regiment and 77 Sqn Royal Engineers, displaying the full spectrum of Spec C-CBRN capability combined with the complexity of early entry tasks and force projection from the UK to a Main Operating Base, whilst operating in difficult climatic conditions.
The overarching aim of the exercise was to assess the preparedness of C-CBRN Recce and Exploitation Teams as well the deployment world class Biological Sense capability. Subsequently the operational delivery of each area was subject to Battlefield Mission and Tasks.
The exercise also allowed bench marking of C-CBRN capability and testing of our interoperability with 3 Specialist C-CBRN units from the United States Army. This largely focused on planning and conducting Combined, Joint C-CBRN Recce and Exploitation missions.
