Swimathon raises 1855 Euros in memory of Andy "Hot Dog" Michael

48 personnel based at RAF Akrotiri took part in a 24hr Swimathon on Friday 17th July, covering a staggering 10,483 lengths, or

349,084 metres, raising money in memory of Andy Michael.

Andy sadly passed away in May after a dignified battle with cancer. He had worked at RAF Akrotiri since 1997 as an ambulance driver and also manned his famous hot dog and burger van outside of the Post Office and at Stn events.

Monies raised from the swim will be distributed between cancer charities, the Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS UK) and Andy's memorial.
