Mr Paul Nash paid a quick visit to Cranwell to generously donate one hundred blankets to the RAF Benevolent Fund for distribution to RAF Veterans

In recognition of the RAF College’s Centenary year, Mr Paul Nash paid a quick visit to Cranwell to generously donate one hundred blankets to the RAF Benevolent Fund for distribution to RAF Veterans.

Mr Nash, graduated from the RAF College in 1972 on D Sqn and has not been back to the RAF College in recent years He met with the Station Commander, Group Captain Gordon Bettington and Mrs Lisa Hunt from the RAF Benevolent Fund. Mr Nash a former pilot on returning to the College said

“Returning to RAF College Cranwell is always very emotional. It evokes so many special memories and pride in my 100 Entry ‘D’ Sqn heritage including drill parades, dining-in nights, flying training, sports and, of course, the bar. What I learnt as a Cadet set me up for life. It was brilliant – I loved it!”

Lisa Hunt, Regional Fundraiser, RAF Benevolent Fund said:

“This very generous donation to support 100 members of the RAF Family during the College’s centenary will be warmly welcomed by the recipients. Many RAF veterans and their partners will be facing a lonely and isolated winter due to the challenges of Covid-19. The Fund has been working hard to help alleviate this by expanding our Telephone Friendship Groups and introducing Check and Chat calls for vulnerable beneficiaries.”
