Every year airshows across the country wow crowds with spectacular air displays, a variety of stationary aircraft and lots of family friendly activities, and 2018 will be see bigger and better shows to celebrate our centenary.
Kicking off the airshow season will be Shuttleworth’s Season Premiere where there will be air displays and ground activities with a STEM focus that will be engaging for the next generation of innovators as well as entertainment for the whole family.
The Shuttleworth Collection’s aircraft span from 1909 through to 1950, and has some of the last remaining airworthy aircraft of their type.
On June 10 the RAF Cosford Air Show 2018 will feature a unique mix of aircraft, spanning the 100-year history of the Royal Air Force, which will be showcased in a flying display and in a special RAF100 Static Exhibition. This is a never before seen collection of aircraft that gives you a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the evolution of air power over the last 100 years.
The Royal International Air Tattoo will return this summer on 13-15 July and as well as commemorating the RAF's past achievements, it will also celebrate the present and help to inspire the future of the RAF.
The 2018 Air Tattoo has been selected to be the international celebration of the RAF's Centenary and will be bring together air arms, aircraft and those who serve from around the world for a global salute to the RAF.
On September 22 and 23, RAF Duxford, now part of the Imperial War Museums, will host the Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show. Bringing to life Duxford’s finest hour as an important Second World War fighter station, defending Great Britain from aerial attack in 1940, the skies will be filled once more with the roar of the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.
