Practice Makes Perfect

Final preparations were underway as RAF personnel practiced for the parade on 10 July, both in the skies and on the ground.

RAF Cranwell was the setting for a spectacular flypast practice which saw a host of different aircraft soaring over in the order they flew over Buckingham Palace on 10th July at 1pm.

Here are a few of our favourite snaps from the flypast practice…

Practice on the ground continued at Halton with over 1000 personnel braving the hot weather making sure the parade was a success. All elements of the parade, including the Queen’s Colour Squadron, RAF Music Services and route lining personnel, undertook kit inspection and parade marching preparations.

RAF Halton’s parade ground stood in for Central London; on the day of the parade itself personnel marched off from The Mall at 11:25am.
