5th Battalion The Rifles Depart for Estonia

Some 250 soldiers from Bulford based 5th Battalion led by their Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Mark Wilson, departed on their eight-month deployment to Estonia as the Enhanced Forward Presence. It is the UK's contribution to the largest deployment of NATO troops since the end of the Cold War, designed to reassure the Baltic States and deter any would-be aggressors.
