The Air Cadets from Coningsby’s 17 Squadron assembled at the Abbey Lodge, Kirkstead to attend the Squadron’s annual, “Dining Out – Eating In” evening. The guest of honour was Wing Commander, Claire O’Grady, Officer Commanding Base Support Wing RAF Coningsby. Along with other guests, Reverend (Wing Commander) Alasdair Nicol from RAF Coningsby and Squadron Leader, Simon Dunn from Trent Wing.

During the evening there were several promotions awarded to the cadets. Following the awards Wing Commander O’Grady gave an inspirational speech drawing on her own personal experience of being an Air Cadet.

Wing Commander O’Grady said, “It has been a real privilege to attend 17 Squadron’s annual dinner this evening. It brought back lots of great memories and reminded me what a fantastic organisation the Air Cadets is. 17 Squadron is a great example of the organisation”.Wing Commander Claire O’Grady with Chris Sykes promoted from Sergeant to Flight Sergeant.
