Church of the Holy Spirit - inside

The Chaplaincy is based in the Church of the Holy Spirit - the new church you pass on the way out of the station. This Church was built in 1989 and is one of the finest station churches in the RAF. The Church of the Holy Spirit has some wonderful stained glass windows, the first was BCAIR window dedicated to Commonwealth Occupation Forces in Japan, we also have windows for 17, 29, 56 and 97 Squadrons and the latest edition is the
Battle of Britain Memorial Flight window dedicated in 2006. Drop in and have a look – the church is open throughout the working day and in the early evening to the RAF Community.

Church of the Holy Spirit - lounge The Church lounge is also open providing a quiet place to sit and read – or help yourself to a cup of coffee from the Church kitchen. The lounge may also be used for meetings – please book through the Padres.

Your chaplains are available at all times for private and fully confidential consultation. Padres are often involved in helping with welfare problems during times of personal difficulty as well as providing counselling and guidance on religious matters. Whatever the problem you can discuss it with a chaplain in the strictest confidence. Nothing will be discussed with any other person without your express permission.
