Who We Are

Our Vision
We want our Armed Forces (both Regular and Reserves), veterans and their families to know they can depend on SSAFA for support now and for the rest of their lives. Our values mean we are committed, practical and understanding.

What We Do

SSAFA provides lifelong support to anyone who is currently serving or has ever served in the Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force.

We're ready to help you and your family, whenever and wherever you need us.

We Are Here For You

The MoD has contracted SSAFA to provide the RAF with a Personal Support and Social Work Service in the UK. We provide a professionally qualified Personal Support and Social Work service throughout the UK to all serving personnel (regular and reserves), and their family.

Our service is independent from the Chain of Command. With your consent, we work alongside RAF Command and within the RAF community. It is our service's aim to support you to maintain family stability, enhance personal welfare and empower you to independently access the support systems and networks you are entitled to.

How We Can Help

Our expert team provide professional welfare and Social Work support to serving personnel and the RAF community. We maintain links with Local Authority Social Services staff and other civilian welfare-related organisations to help you get resolution to your issues.

The support may be listening and talking with you about your options, signposting you to the right help or giving 1:1 support through a process.

We are a confidential service so anything told in confidence (with a few clearly defined exceptions) cannot be passed to a third party without the individual's consent. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.
