29 March – Enthusiasts Event – RAF Lossiemouth – RAF Lossiemouth will host a number of aircraft enthusiasts on Wednesday 29 March 2017 at RAF Lossiemouth. The aim of the event is to give enthusiasts an opportunity to get closer to the aircraft participating in Exercise JOINT WARRIOR (JW17-1) and being hosted at RAF Lossiemouth. At this time the numbers and types of aircraft being hosted at RAF Lossiemouth has not been confirmed. There may be an opportunity to photograph Station aircraft as well during the event, again this is dependent on availability.

Places for the event will be limited; interested enthusiasts are invited to request a place by emailing (with Enthusiasts Event in the title) the following details to los-mediaandcomms@mod.uk by 1 March 2017:

  • First name
  • Surname
  • Date of Birth
  • Address (including postcode)
  • Contact telephone number
  • Vehicle make/model/registration number
  • Nationality
  • ID/Passport Number (if non-British national)
  • Email address

Applications without all of the above information will not be accepted. Persons under the age of 16 can attend providing they are accompanied by an adult. On arrival, adults will need to produce photographic ID (e.g. passport or drivers’ licence) prior to entry to RAF Lossiemouth.

Should this event be over-subscribed a ballot will be carried out to allocate places. Group applications will have their members treated as individuals if a ballot is required.

Confirmation of places will be e-mailed to enthusiasts by 6 March 2017.

Please note:

This event will take place on an operational airfield; RAF Lossiemouth reserves the right to cancel, postpone or amend the date and/or timings of the event should operational needs dictate.

Permission to photograph aircraft participating in Ex JW17-1 rests with the relevant detachment commander and RAF Lossiemouth and may be withdrawn at any time.

There will be no charge for this event but RAF Lossiemouth will invite donations to a service charity. A collection will be made during the event.

This event is not a media day and there is no guaranteed access to any squadron or Station personnel; journalists should apply separately to the Media & Communications Officer (on the email address above) should they wish to access RAF Lossiemouth to cover Exercise JOINT WARRIOR.
