RAF Lossiemouth held its annual Adult Learners‘ Day recently, inviting training and education organisations from across the region and the UK to the RAF base.

The event was open to the wider RAF family in the area, with Service and civilian personnel as well as their families, speaking to stand providers about a whole range of training opportunities.

Organised by the Station Learning Centre, the recent Open Day saw over 160 personnel visit for information and advice on further education and training on topics as wide ranging as gliding training to health and beauty qualifications.

Miss Linda Roy is the Personal Learning Advisor at RAF Lossiemouth and is responsible for providing advice and guidance on personal training and education opportunities as well as organising courses for Station personnel. She said:

“Our recent Adult Learners’ Day was another chance for training providers to give advice and information directly to the personnel who work at RAF Lossiemouth as well as their families. It can sometimes be difficult for Service personnel to know when and where they might next have an opportunity to do any personal development training; so these types of events help them ask more detailed questions of the training providers.”
