RAF Marham Golf Club and Golf Course

RAF Marham Golf Club offers all MOD civilians, service personnel & their dependants our well kept golf course. The course consists of 9 holes at a total of 6047 yards with a current par of 71.The Golf Club also stocks a small amount of golfing equipment including tees, gloves and balls. Larger items and RAF Marham branded golf wear are available to order. The Golf Club's Clubhouse offers a bar & catering facilities. The Clubhouse can also be hired for section functions, children's parties or other social events.

The Clubhouse is located adjacent to Tornado Components Squadron (TCS - previously EES). All Station personnel are welcome to use the bar. We also stock a small amount of golfing equipment including gloves, tees and golf balls. Larger items and RAF Marham branded golf wear is available to order.

Joining Process
Once you have completed the attached form simply send to SAC (T) Vincent Lee, TSF, RAF Marham, Kings Lynn, Norfolk, PE33 9NP OR SGT MATT OSLING, RAF Marham, Kings Lynn, Norfolk, PE33 9NP OR post in clubhouse.

Once your membership is confirmed your bag tag and fixture list will be placed behind the bar in the clubhouse for collection. If it is not convenient to collect these items please contact the membership secretary.

LOCAL RULES

1. OUT OF BOUNDS ( Rule 27-1)
(a) On or over any road, taxiway, hard standing or car park bordering the course.
(b) Beyond the line of white stakes on any hole.
(c) The area of the clubhouse, veranda, changing rooms and gardens.
(d) On or over the road behind the green when playing the 6/15th hole.

2. STONES IN BUNKERS
Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies).

3. PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES (Identified by stakes)
If such tree interferes with the player’s stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b(1) (Immovable Obstruction). The ball may be cleaned when so lifted.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE 3 Match Play – loss of hole: Stroke play – two strokes.

4. PRACTICE PUTTING GREEN
The practice putting green to the right of the 9/18th green is defined as a “wrong green”, Rule 25-3 refers).

5. AIRCRAFT AND VEHICLE MOVEMENTS
Player’s must be vigilant and always give way to Aircraft, vehicles and pedestrian movements on adjacent roads and taxiways. Specifically, play is to be suspended on the 4/13th holes and 7/16th holes whilst aircraft are in transit along the northern taxiway. Player’s may putt out on greens.

6. OBSTRUCTIONS
(a) Manhole covers and concrete installations within the course.
(b) That portion of the roadway crossing the 4/11th hole that is in bounds.
(c) That part of the footpath at the rear of the 8/17th green that is in bounds.
(d) Electrical generator compound behind 3rd /12th hole.
Note: The lattice fencing made from logs adjacent to the 8/18th green is declared as an integral part of the course

7. If a golf ball comes to rest in an out of bounds area, it is to be recovered if visible from the golf course and if there are no aircraft on the Northern Taxiway (or Bravo dispersal) with engines running.

If the golf ball is not visible from the golf course or if there are aircraft on the Northern Taxiway (or Bravo dispersal) with engines running, a note is to be made of the estimated position of the golf ball and this information is to be relayed to ATC as soon as possible. No attempt is to be made to retrieve a golf ball in these circumstances.

At the first available opportunity, golfers are to contact ATC by one of the following methods:

1. Call direct on 01760 444949.
2. Call x4949 using the Stn Fire Section internal phone.
3. Call x4949 using the Golf Club internal phone.

This rule may be relaxed at weekends and public holidays when there are periods of airfield inactivity such that golfers are to retrieve their ball if safe to do so; however, any items not retrieved are to be reported to ATC.
