Visitors Information

Visitor Arrival Procedures

Visitors arriving at RAF Shawbury should enter via the main gate (situated off the B 5063 Shawbury - Wem road) and report to the Passes and Permits office to book in and collect a visitor's security pass.

Parking While Booking In

Small vehicles (cars, vans, mini-buses, etc) approaching the main gate should stay in the left hand lane and use the temporary parking lane. Large vehicles (buses, lorries etc) should park in the middle entry lane if there is no suitable space in the temporary parking lane.

Off-Base Parking

Visitors that are requested to park their vehicles in the emergency car park when alternative transport into RAF Shawbury has been arranged can find directions into the car park by clicking here

Booking-In Procedures

All visitors are required to produce 2 forms of UK-recognised identification when booking in, with at least one form of photo-ID (ideally a passport or new style-driving licence)
Details of the visit, including an authorised sponsor and any documents relating to the visit, should be provided to assist the staff in Passes and Permits. All casual visitors should be escorted on to the station by an authorised sponsor (service person, MOD civilian or adult dependant).

Group Visits

Groups visiting RAF Shawbury for specific visits, events or activities should be booked, in advance, by the authorised person arranging the visit/activity (RAF Shawbury sponsor). Full details of the visit, including a list of all visitors, should be forwarded to the RAF Shawbury sponsor at least 5 working days before the visit
