Welcome to RAF Wittering

Royal Air Force Wittering is home to units of the RAF A4 Force and squadrons of No. 3 Flying Training School (3FTS) and No 6 Flying Training School (6FTS). The A4 Force deploys the vital engineering and logistics support needed to sustain UK military air operations, wherever they are required.

The squadrons of 3FTS provide elementary flying training to the next generation of Royal Air Force pilots and teach qualified pilots to become flying instructors. 6FTS teaches elementary flying training to the students of the University Air Squadrons and provides Air Cadets with their first experiences of RAF flying.
The Station is home to many other diverse units including the RAF Medical Reserves, Outreach Teams and Air Cadets. Located on the A1 just south of Stamford, the Station boasts an iconic Harrier as its gate guardian.

RAF Wittering marked its centennial in 2016 and is one of the busiest and most interesting Stations in the Royal Air Force. I hope you find your visit to our website to be interesting and useful.
