Red Arrows Public Relations

Public relations

There is huge public and media interest in the Red Arrows, from individuals and groups all over the world. The Public Relations (PR) department is responsible for helping people learn more about the team.

The PR section organises the team’s many public functions, visits and high-profile meetings, together with coordinating the ground presence at airshows and other events in the UK and overseas.

Press queries are also handled by the PR team – from interviews and photo shoots to sending out media packs and publicity items.

All of the Red Arrows’ marketing and promotional materials, including thousands of brochures and this website, are looked after by the PR department. The team's considerable social media presence is also part of the PR function - @rafredarrows on Twitter and Periscope and RAF Red Arrows on Facebook.

The department is the only Red Arrows section led by a civilian manager – an experienced media specialist – who is assisted by two staff members.

The PR Manager is Mr Andrew Morton, who is also one of the team’s executives, and is responsible for the overall publicity and engagement strategy of the Red Arrows, both at home and overseas.

Supporting Andrew is the PR Officer, Mrs Johanne Pearson, who takes the lead on organising the team’s presence at domestic airshows, and the PR Assistant - Senior Aircraftwoman Hannah Ward.
