Social Engagement Workers

The RAF Benevolent Fund is seeking to appoint four individuals to work within Community Support teams on designated RAF stations to promote social engagement in their RAF community.

The role will involve raising awareness of the range of agencies, associations, programmes and groups available, assisting individuals to overcome barriers to participation and to provide targeted support to individuals experiencing isolation. In addition, post holders will work to promote the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and help identify members of the RAF Family who may benefit from their assistance. Successful candidates will have a good understanding of the RAF and the RAF family together with experience of working in a community based or social welfare role providing support to groups and individuals.

They will be required to demonstrate strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as evidence of working as part of a diverse team. The role will be based at the designated RAF station, with some local travel and occasional training and meetings in London.
