SIIAP is an advisory panel of regulated insurance, investment and mortgage companies, recognised by the Ministry of Defence, and specialising in providing advice and information to members of HM Forces.
The objectives of SIIAP are to:
- Promote best practice within the industry and its clients.
- Provide technical advice and expertise to HM Forces in all financial services and general insurance affairs.
SIIAP members will also have an understanding of the benefits provided through Service by the MOD such as:
- Armed Forces Pension Scheme
- Armed Forces Compensation Scheme
- MOD provided accommodation
SIIAP members are regulated by the appropriate authority within the UK and therefore offer compensation rights to clients, regardless of where they are assigned. In addition, all members of SIIAP are governed by a Code of Conduct, which sets out the standards required of member companies.
Whilst it remains MOD policy not to sponsor any commercial organisation, and entry into Units is entirely at the discretion of Commanding Officers, Units are advised to be aware of the existence and objectives of SIIAP and utilise their expertise where appropriate.
