LUAS Charity 1

LUAS Charities

Encouraging community involvement and progression through involvement with charities is a large aspect of LUAS. We aim to support the local community by donating money raised through our efforts to the North West Air Ambulance and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF) - a well-known military charity, which provides a range of support aimed at serving and former RAF personnel.

In previous years we have completed a race to Bastion, which involved cycling and rowing the distance from our base of RAF Woodvale to Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. We have raised money with charity bag packing, galas and half/full marathons. We have also helped our local community through voluntary work in the local area.

In the future we plan to continue with our constant efforts and to increase the amount that we raise and how much we can help others. To do so, we will be continuing to encourage more charity events and local voluntary work. In the coming months, LUAS will be taking part in a 5k fun run in and around Liverpool, hopefully followed closely by a sponsored skydive early next year. Both events aim to raise funds for our chosen charities: the North West Air Ambulance and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.
