THE UNIT

The Royal Air Force Centre for Air and Space Power Studies (RAF CASPS) is an RAF think tank which focusses on the strategic and conceptual study of air and space power.  It seeks to: generate evidence-based academic research; provide strategic influence through coordinated engagement with think tanks, allies and other professional bodies in the defence and policy space; leverage the intellectual horsepower of external institutions and RAF personnel; and help inculcate a philosophy of learning and critical thinking within the RAF.

Group Captain Paul Sanger-Davies MVO MPhil MA BA(Hons) MCIPD RAF

Group Captain Paul Sanger-Davies joined the RAF in 1994, serving in support roles for every front-line capability and as Gp Capt RAF100. He has been PSO to DCOM Cap/AMP, PSO to DSACEUR and Equerry-in-Waiting to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and HM The Queen. His operational experience incudes tours in the Middle East and Afghanistan. Paul graduated from Cambridge University in 2021, with an MPhil in Politics and International Studies focussed upon the militarisation and weaponization of cyberspace.
