The very first Qualified Warfare Instructor (Air Mobility) course has culminated in all the members successfully graduating to become our force’s future leaders and experts in warfare as we pivot to operating in an even more contested air environment.
______________________________________________________________
The QWI(AM) course is a postgraduate tactical instructional qualification on a par with the other Air and Space Warfare Centre (ASWC) QWI courses. It supersedes the previous Qualified Multi-engine Tactics Instructor (QMETI) qualification, which is still extant, with a course that has been developed in conjunction and partnership with the ASWC. We have improved and enhanced the content and developed and encouraged the analysis and decision-making skills required of a modern warfare instructor, a warfighting leader in the air and on the ground.
The graduates were presented with their qualification certificates by Group Captain Gareth Burdett, who is commander of the RAF Air Mobility Air Wing. Group Captain Burdett said:
“We congratulate our candidates as they graduate as Qualified Warfare Instructors (Air Mobility). These graduates are our warfighting experts, training and preparing our crews for operations ranging from Humanitarian missions such as Op PITTING through to deploying 16 Air Assault Brigade. These officers are future leaders of the Air Mobility Force.”
