Battle of Britain Commemoration

RAF Halton Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess have commemorated the Battle Of Britain anniversary with a Sunset Ceremony followed by a formal dinner.

The ceremony was graced by a fly past from a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Hawker Hurricane.

The special guest for the occasion was Mrs Kathleen Mary Poole who served in the Womens’ Auxiliary Air Force in 1942 as a Radar Operator tracking V2 bombs.  

She was escorted by her daughter Mrs Ann Havlin who is also an ex-Women’s Royal Air Force.

Kathleen’s Grandson is also serving in the RAF and is on detachment in the Falklands at the moment.

She served at the following Stations
