CAMPION INTAKE LOOKS FORWARD

Number 626 MP18 Campion Intake Graduated after 10 weeks Basic Recruit Training this week on a cold but bright day. They marched out on to the Henderson Parade Square behind Flight and Parade Commander, Flt Lt Andy Furlong, to the musical accompaniment of The Band of the Royal Air Force College led by Bandmaster Warrant Officer Allot. The fly past was by A Hawk T2, from 4 Squadron based at RAF Valley.

The Queen’s Colour was paraded and borne by Fg Off Sudeep Ale, the new Recruit Training Squadron Adjutant.

The Reviewing Officer was Group Captain Montellier, RAF Career’s Management, who was escorted by Cpl Flanagan. He presented Trophies to:

AC Timothy was awarded The Halton Aircraft Apprentice Shield, awarded to the recruit who has displayed the highest overall standard of effort, determination and achievement in physical education and The Mayor of Aylesbury Trophy, awarded for the best overall performance in all aspects of training on Number 5 Flight.

AC Grahamslaw  -  The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund Trophy, awarded for displaying the greatest effort and determination on Number 3 Flight.

AC Vickers- The Station Commander’s Cup, awarded for displaying the greatest effort and determination on Number 6 Flight.

AC Boyle - The Rothschild Trophy, awarded to the recruit who achieves the highest overall standard in Initial Force Protection Training.

AC Jackson - The Lord Lieutenant Of Buckinghamshire’s Trophy for the best overall performance in all aspects of training on Number 6 Flight.

AC Hooson - The Dusty Miller Trophy, as voted for by their fellow recruits for showing the most willingness to help others.

AC McHardy-Roberts – The Halton Aircraft Apprentice Trophy, awarded to the recruit who has shown the highest standard in Drill and Deportment.

Finally The Lord Trenchard Trophy awarded to the Flight whose performance has been the best overall in general service training and general service knowledge.  It was awarded to No. 6 Flight and collected on their behalf by SAC McMahon.

Over 300 family and friends were there to witness the Graduation Parade of 93 recruits.

Other Graduation Parade day stories:

Warrant Officer Deborah Meikle, the most senior and long serving Non-Commissioned nurse in the Royal Air Force, visited the Station as an Engagement Guest for Station Commander, Group Captain Katherine Wilson’s, pre-graduation lunch.

After viewing the Parade she met up for a photo opportunity with two AC’s who were Graduating and who will be the newest Non-Commissioned nursing staff.

After the Reviewing Officer had sat for a photo taken with the Trophy winners he went on to have another taken with AC Key who was a Cadet in the Air Training Corps of which Group Captain is President.

The other Engagement Guest for the lunch was Mr Gary Headland, CEO of the Lincoln Air And Defence Career College where Halton’s Station Commander studied, prior to enlisting.
