As 2025’s International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE) programme comes to an end, three dozen cadets from six countries plus guests sat down to a farewell dinner at London’s Royal Air Force Club.
The aviation-minded young people and escort staff from six countries are near to completing their programme that started on 8th July. The visitors from Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Sweden and the United States of America have visited a range of RAF stations, industry, the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Royal International Air Tattoo plus sports events and meetings with UK RAF Air Cadets.
The visit was co-funded by the Air Cadet Charity and their Director, Jessica Gilbert, was one of the VIP guests.
Guest of Honour was Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Al Lewis. He said, "It is always a thrill to meet cadets from around the world on events such as IACE and our share experiences. Add to that the pleasure of being able to host a formal dinner in a location as prestigious as The RAF Club, will hopefully give our visiting cadets some long-lasting memories. The aim of IACE is to foster international understanding, further develop goodwill and friendships among young people who have an interest in aviation and I am sure that the programmes that the Air Cadets has prepared for 2025 will help develop those connections between the UK escort cadets and our visitors".
