Joining our team of cadet forces adult volunteers (CFAV) might just be the perfect fit. Being a Civilian Instructor is a hugely rewarding experience with numerous benefits.
As well as developing exceptional leadership skills while helping young people reach their potential, you’ll have the chance to earn valuable qualifications like expedition leadership, first aid, and nationally recognised qualifications in leadership and management.
Signing up is easy and our experienced volunteers are here to help you along your way.

Training and induction
During your probation, you will complete the Adult Volunteer Induction Package (AVIP), which covers essential knowledge of the organisation.
Until you finish this training and completed the probation period, you can only attend activities on your Squadron or Unit premises.
Appointment
Now you’re ready to become a fully appointed Civilian Instructor.
From this point you can progress into a uniformed role as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) or Commissioned Officer. You can discuss this with your Squadron or Unit Officer Commanding if you wish.
