The RAF Air Cadets is an inclusive and diverse organisation. There are 43,000 Royal Air Force Air Cadets across the UK and our 10,000 adult volunteers help us keep things running safely and smoothly.
Meet some of our Cadets and Volunteers, past and present, below.
Tom Willis
Tom is a Civilian Gliding Instructor having previously been a cadet for seven years, gaining his pilot's licence through the RAF Air Cadets.
Elly Shipley
Flight Lieutenant Elly Shipley, now an OC, spent seven years as a cadet herself and had been a CWO and Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for Essex Wing
Zoe Webb
Zoe was awarded The Dacre Sword for the top Air Training Corps cadet. After seven years in the Air Cadets, Zoe left as a Cadet Warrant Officer.
Clare Ballantyne
Clare was a Sergeant with the RAF Air Cadets which led to a dream job working in Antarctica.
Shanwayne Stephens
Shanwayne is a RAF Regiment Gunner and also competes in the Jamaican Bobsleigh Team.
James Miles
James was once a cadet and has since returned as an adult volunteer and has become a qualified Lowlands Leader.
Tim Heyworth
Tim served in the RAF for 27 years before becoming a volunteer where he has spent the last 8 years working his way through the ranks.
Andrew Rigsby
A volunteer since 1986, Andrew has flown, trained and graded staff and cadets in over 10,000 launches and over 1000 hours of flying.
