Over the weekend of the 11 and 12 July, four teams from the RAF Air Cadet (Air Training Corps Squadrons along with several CCF(RAF) cadets as part of CCF teams) attended the inaugural Cadet Smallbore Rifle Meeting, held at Ash Ranges and Bisley. Three of the teams were from London Wing, with the fourth from 2419 (Quedgeley) Squadron.
The teams put in a great effort, especially given the dynamic changes to the program that were made in response to the weather. On this occasion most of the trophies were picked up by the Army Cadet Force and Sea Cadet Corps, however there were some notable RAF Air Cadets results. Twenty-five "Cadet 100" badges were awarded at the meet for the top individual cadet shots. Of these four were presented to the members of the RAF Air Cadets team from 2419 Squadron.

Wing Commander Oram, Shooting Delivery Enablement and Continuous Improvement Head from HQ RAF Air Cadets said, "Thanks to all the staff who supported the event, in particular the RAFAC range team lead by Sqn Ldr Tom Holland (OC 5 SATT), who worked hard to help deliver a safe and efficient competition within the constraints of the conditions.
Well done to all the participating cadets, who had clearly done a lot of work with their unit s staff to prepare for the event. While up against it given the larger number of teams from both the ACF and SCC, they did their best to ensure strong RAFAC representation. The event was a success, and hopefully there will be more RAFAC teams looking to participate next year."
