A cadet from London Wing has come out as top shot at this year’s Cadet Inter-Service Skill at Arms Meeting (CISSAM). Cadet Ibrahim of 241 (Wanstead & Woodford) Sqn scored a total of 133, beating a member of the Army Cadet Force team by 5 points to take top spot. He was part of the London Wing A team who also won the Advance to Contact Match and Overall Champion Unit.
CISSAM is a national competition for cadet units from the Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadet Force and RAF Air Cadets held annually at Pirbright Ranges in October, run by the Council for Cadet Rifle Shooting. It is made up of eight competitions, each testing the cadets’ rifle skills in a different way.
The top 50 cadets in the competition are awarded the coveted Cadet 50 badge. With the reduced number of participants this year, only 21 badges were presented with eight of those going to RAF Air Cadets.
The event was also supported by a team of 19 range and logistics staff from across the country, who were complemented by the event organisers for their professionalism.
In addition to the top individual, the RAF Air Cadets teams secured five of the eight trophies on offer. Full results are below.
