The RAF Air Cadet teams outshone themselves at the final Inter Service Cadet Rifle Meeting (ISCRM) using the L81A2 cadet target rifle. In the middle of a heatwave at that National Shooting Centre at Bisley in Surrey, our air cadets dominated the competition taking home 13 out of 14 cadet trophies and the adult volunteer competition title as the icing on the cake.
The annual competition takes place over two and a half days with cadets shooting the L81A2 full-bore cadet target rifle in teams of four cadet with a reserve and coaches. The teams compete in 10 matches against each other at ranges over 300, 500 and 600 yards.
The event, managed by the Council for Cadet Rifle Shooting, had 94 teams from across the three cadet services, with 53 teams from the RAF Air Cadets, 21 from the Army Cadet Force and 20 from the Sea Cadet Corps. Including the cadet support group and range team, over 600 cadets and Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers took part in ISCRM 2025.
The stand out performance of the competition was from 30F (City of Llandaff) Sqn who were crowned Champion Unit for the second year in a row. They also clinched the Individual 600, Patriotic 500, Frankford Shield and Babcock Trophy. Adding to their success, the top overall individual cadet was Cdt FS Lerwill for 30F Sqn who picked up the prestigious Bossom Trophy.

2419 (Quedgeley) Sqn made history by winning their first ever trophy at the meeting. They picked up the Aldershot Command Trophy for the best team coached by a cadet.
Another historic event took place when 1344 (Cardiff) Sqn took first place in the Watts Bowl competition (a 600 yard match for a team of four firers). This win completed the set for their coach, who has now won every ISCRM trophy as both a cadet and a coach.
In the Inter-Cadet Force Final , the RAF Air Cadets ‘B’ Team took first place, with the ‘A’ team following in an impressive third place.
Over the meeting there is an aggregated competition for individual cadet firers over a number of matches, which recognises the top 100 cadets at ISCRM. Known as the Cadet 100, each cadet receives a badge that can be worn on their brassard. This year RAF Air Cadets took home an astonishing 61 of the Cadet 100 badges, including the top six placed cadets!

The dedication and hard work shown by every single team was truly inspiring, especially with the adaptable spirit shown in challenging weather conditions.
A huge well done to all involved for their fantastic results and incredible success! You've made us incredibly proud.
