RAF Falcons End 2017 Display Season with a Jump Packed Weekend

The Royal Air Force Falcons Parachute Display Team, have ended their amazing display season by performing at Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show, No. 3 Squadron Memorial at RAF Newchurch and The Warren Golf Club Classic and Supercar Show 2017.

Over the weekend of the 23-24 September 2017, crowds gathered to watch the Team perform two outstanding displays per day. They officially marked the end of their 2017 display season at the Warren Golf Club Classic and Supercar show 2017.

In total, the RAF Falcons have performed a stunning 36 displays across the UK this year. They kicked off their season by making history, with their first ever display at Buckingham Palace, for a special garden party hosted by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. To honour the children of those who have died serving in the Armed Forces.

“Well what a way to start my first season jumping in to Buckingham Palace to seeing so many people wanting to see you jump and speak to you after the display. This for me has been the highlight of my 12 year career by far and can’t wait for the next 2 years on the team.”

From Buckingham Palace, the Team went on to display at county fairs, festivals, families days, Annual Formal Receptions and an amazing 6 airshows. During the summer the Team also helped celebrate the arrival of the Queen’s Baton Relay for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. The Team were very honoured to be a part of the Queens Baton Relay.

"We’re extremely happy to have had such a successful final display weekend of the year, with two displays at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, a display at the opening of the 3 Sqn Memorial at RAF Newchurch, and our final display of the year at the Warren Golf Club Classic and Supercar event. It’s been a very busy, and highly successful display season, with displays completed in every corner of the UK. We’d like to thank everyone who’s come along and watched our displays and everyone who’s supported us throughout the season."

The Team will now take a short break before they head to California for their winter training in preparation for the 2018 display season!
