Inspiring STEM careers

The success of the RAF is largely thanks to the talented people in critical STEM roles like engineers, aviation technicians, and medics.

We want to see all young people continue studying STEM subjects to open up the opportunities for exciting and rewarding careers. That’s why we visit schools and communities around the UK and overseas to run hands-on activities and competitions with school students.

RAF STEM Resources

We’ve created fun and free STEM activities that you can download for primary and secondary students to use in the classroom or at home.

Challenges include activities linked to coding, rockets, design and build, investigate, cyber, virtual experiences and more.

RAF STEM resources

RAF STEM is practical and fun. It builds confidence, develops communication and relates learning to real life problems.

RAF STEM Ambassadors

RAF STEM Ambassadors come from all Trades and Branches, with diverse backgrounds and experiences. They love sharing their enthusiasm and passion; inspiring the next generation to take up STEM subjects and understand the breadth of STEM careers available in the workforce.

Contact us on  or if you want to find an RAF STEM Ambassador near you.

Working in partnership

The RAF Youth and STEM team work with 5 National Strategic Partners:

In collaboration with a range of specialist STEM education providers we deliver an annual program of larger regional STEM activities, In-School events and Residentials.

If you are interested in participating in any of our events please contact us

The RAF works with other UK STEM organisations to offer opportunities for young people to engage with STEM throughout their education at every key stage

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for today. The children absolutely loved it and there was a buzz around the school which was just lovely to see. One of our year 5 teachers has been teaching at CSM for 32 years and she said it was the best visit we have ever had. Please pass on our thanks from the staff and children from CSM to all the STEM ambassadors who helped to make it happen, it has been a huge success!
