Cancer in young adults Conference 2021

Shine Cancer support logo features a sun.

The Conference is free to attend online, running every day between Saturday 13th to Thursday 18th November 2021.

Shine Connect is the UK's only Conference for young adults with cancer.  It is open to anyone aged between 20 and 49 who has experienced a diagnosis with cancer, as well as their family, partners, and friends.

The Conference will allow you to meet others and share your experiences with each other.  You will hear from experts from the cancer field

Key speakers will share their specialist knowledge on sessions covering topics around dating, fertility, men’s mental health, managing anxiety, understanding clinical trials, and more.

One such expert is Professor Andrew Biankin, from the Glasgow Precision Oncology Laboratory.  The Laboratory was established in 2016, to develop, apply and test better treatments for a range of cancers, including pancreatic, colorectal, ovarian, brain and liver cancer.

The researchers at the facility perform molecular tests and laboratory experiments on patient tumours, RNA Sequencing, models of disease, genomic mutational landscape, and phenotypes for clinical trials development.  The University also offers training to clinicians, PhD and Masters students.
