Halton Graduates Mark Huge Milestone

On 24 June, RAF Halton saw the largest cohort of graduates since the pandemic finish their Basic Recruit Training Course.

The milestone reflects sustained efforts across the Service to support the Royal Air Force’s endeavours to be ready to fly and fight. The Aviator Training Academy has steadily increased course sizes since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The graduating intake of 149, demonstrates the RAF’s commitment to growing operational capability at a time of heightened threats, when skilled and motivated personnel are more important than ever.

“As Reviewing Officer, it was a great privilege to witness so many Aviators on parade today - the largest graduation parade RAF Halton has seen for many years. This was clear and tangible evidence of the Royal Air Force's commitment to growing the trained force and strengthening our operational capability.

“These graduates represent the next generation of war fighters who will underpin our air and space power for years to come. I take great pride in their achievement and in the efforts of the instructors and staff whose dedication has made this milestone a reality. We continue to improve our agility, integration, and readiness to fly, fight and win.”

The graduates formed part of the Pearson Intake, which began training in April 2026. Their success is the result of significant effort across Aviator Training Academy, RAF Halton, 22 Group and Air Command to increase training capacity and deliver more personnel to the front line.

“[This graduation] is a powerful demonstration of what the Aviator Training Academy is delivering in support of the RAF’s workforce recovery. This is the new normal and the result of two years of work across the Service.

“This is more than a number, it represents increased capability for the front line and real progress towards growing operational strength. I am immensely proud of both the recruits and the staff who have made this possible.”
