Christmas Greetings from all at RAF Boulmer

As we all enjoy our Christmas turkey, we will all be thinking of our colleagues that are working over the festive period to keep us safe.

Aerospace Battle Managers in the Control & Reporting Centre will continue to work round the clock to provide the Recognised Air Picture, monitoring and detecting aircraft that may be a threat and providing tactical control of RAF Quick Reaction Alert Typhoon aircraft on behalf of the United Kingdom and NATO.

Delivering homeland defence is truly a team effort that extends way beyond the Operations Room. Engineers will be on duty to maintain Air Surveillance and Control System radars and communications equipment across the length and breadth of the country and catering staff, guards, drivers, firefighters and contractors will be supporting operations throughout the holiday period.

RAF Boulmer also has a significant number of personnel who will be separated from their families at Christmas, detached on overseas operations in the Falkland Islands, Cyprus and the Middle East and our thoughts are with them too.

Thank you to all in the local and wider community who have supported the Station during the year; we look forward to working with you in the year ahead.
