We’re back with our latest 60 Second Update from RAF Leeming, where personnel are training for NATO Air Policing missions on Operation Chessman.
In this episode:
- 140 Expeditionary Air Wing (EAW) personnel on pre-deployment training known as Operation Chessman are preparing for NATO Enhanced Air Policing missions. This year, 140 EAW are working with the Swedish Air Force for the first time since Sweden joined NATO in 2024.
- The ‘My Digital Skills’ learning platform is now available for our Whole Force, offering a wide range of courses, audiobooks, seminars and assessments.
- Helicopter pilots have reached the final part of their operational flying training, known as Exercise Kukri Dawn. Delivered by 28 Squadron, pilots will fly at Leuchars in Fife, training with the British Army’s 51st Infantry Brigade, Mountain Rescue teams, and other services.
