RAF 60 Second Update

The Royal Air Force took to the skies again at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. RIAT is Europe’s largest military airshow, supported by professions across the RAF from the Red Arrows to the RAF Police.

In this bumper RIAT summer special, which is a bit longer than the usual 60 Seconds:

  • Cpl Scanlan speaks with Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Rich Knighton about his time at RIAT, as he thanks the RAF personnel who help make it happen

  •  The RAF has opened a Protector RG Mk1 flight and training establishment at RAF Waddington. Protector is the first remotely piloted aircraft authorised to fly in UK airspace, officially entering service in June this year

  • As part of Exercise Hades Warrior at RAF Leeming, Helicopter pilots from across all three services are training to become Qualified Weapons Instructors and Qualified Helicopter Tactics Instructors

Thanks for watching and see you next time!
