I’m exceptionally grateful to the hugely dedicated and professional people of the FP Force for their incredible work during the time it has been my honour to command. In the face of relentlessly heavy operational tasking and other demands, they have performed superbly as force multipliers for the RAF. Their dedication and professionalism is both inspiring and humbling.

As I deploy to Kabul, I go confident the FP Force will rise to whatever challenge the RAF sets for it, creating and seizing opportunity, and I will take with me great memories of an excellent team.

Provost Marshal (RAF) and Deputy Force Commander, Group Captain David Wilkinson, will take up the role as RAF Force Protection Force Commander.

It is a great privilege to take up the role of Force Commander at what is an exciting time for the FP Force. The RAF plays a central role in the security and prosperity of the United Kingdom and the Force Protection Force remains at the heart of protecting, securing and enabling the RAF to successfully deliver Air and Space Power. Having been part of the FP Force for more than 25 years, the excellence of our people, whether Regular, Reserve or civilian has always inspired me and it is an honour to continue to be part of a team that serves the RAF with such professionalism, pride and commitment.
