The Royal Air Force strengthened its ties with communities, industry, academia and civic leaders across Northern Ireland through a series of high-profile engagement activities marking the Battle of Britain.
Led by Air Marshal Sean Reynolds, Air Officer Northern Ireland, the programme showcased the RAF's commitment to strengthening connections across the region while inspiring future generations.
The programme began in Belfast with the RAF's annual Battle of Britain Business Engagement Reception, bringing together representatives from business, government, academia and Defence to reflect on the legacy of those who served in 1940 and explore opportunities for future collaboration. An accompanying industry roundtable highlighted how Northern Ireland's innovation, skills and expertise continue to support UK defence capability and economic prosperity.
The focus then moved to Enniskillen, where the RAF Town Show welcomed thousands of visitors to the historic former RAF St Angelo site. Families, schools and community groups met serving personnel and enjoyed a range of interactive experiences, including flight simulators, engineering activities, RAF intelligence displays and a Typhoon cockpit experience.
A veterans' breakfast provided an opportunity to recognise those who have served, while flypasts from the Red Arrows and a Typhoon created memorable moments for communities across Northern Ireland and inspired many young people to learn more about the RAF.
