The training being conducted by the RAF Police is complimenting a package of Force Protection training that is being given to the Nigerian Air Force Regiment by other member of 5 Force Protection Wing at Kaduna Airbase, Nigeria.

The Officer Commanding the Short Term Training Team Wing Commander John Rees said:

“We are training a bespoke force for a bespoke task, Air Force protection. One of our golden threads is the importance of Key Leadership Engagement, the support of the local (Nigerian) population and ensuring law and legitimacy of action contributes to operational effect.

“The mantra we teach is, Stay true to the values you hold dear, this is what distinguishes you from your enemies.  Know your rules of engagement.  Never abuse the powers you have or the force you have on call.  Don’t undermine the legitimacy of your position by unlawful action and do not accept it if others act illegally or cross the line.”
