The Royal Air Force has successfully concluded Exercise Cobra Warrior 26, delivered from 16 to 27 March 2026, bringing together air and ground elements from across NATO to operate in one of Europe’s most demanding warfighting environments.
As the UK’s flagship air exercise, Cobra Warrior 26 has enhanced operational readiness, strengthened cooperation with key allies, and reinforced the UK’s enduring commitment to global security and European stability.
Focused on high-end warfighting, the exercise challenged participating forces to refine joint mission planning, tactical integration, and decision-making within a complex Composite Air Operation environment.

This year, the UK welcomed Polish Air Force F-16s and German Air Force Typhoons, operating alongside UK assets. Their participation strengthened NATO interoperability and demonstrated the value of multinational integration in delivering credible air power.
“Training with our Allies in such a demanding environment is immensely valuable. It enables participants to develop and practice the leadership skills required to synchronise multi-platform air manoeuvres with cross-domain effects in a multinational setting. This level of training is essential to sustaining our operational advantage.”

During Cobra Warrior 26, the RAF and partner nations delivered over 80 flights, generating approximately 195 flying hours across the duration of the exercise.
Exercise Cobra Warrior reaffirms the UK’s commitment to peace, security, and international collaboration. Training side-by-side with allied air forces has enhanced coalition readiness, reinforced collective defence, and highlights the UK’s role in maintaining stability across Europe and beyond.
