ABOUT Air Command and Control Force

Air Command and Control (C2) Force conducts 24/7 Air C2 of the UK, assigned NATO airspace and other locations overseas; as well as directing miliary air systems to protect the UK and our NATO Allies. 

We also provide Tactical Air C2, Air Traffic, and Airspace Management for air assets in the UK and overseas. Based at both RAF Boulmer and NATS Swanwick, it covers the country from north to south, east to west.

Commander

Group Captain Chris Misiak MA BSc RAF

Group Captain Chris Misiak was raised near Chester and graduated in Physics from Nottingham University in 1996. He joined the RAF in 1998 as a Fighter Controller serving early tours at RAF Buchan and Boulmer. A Royal Navy exchange followed with deployments in HMS Ark Royal and HMS Invincible.

Promoted to Squadron Leader in 2009, he worked in Navy Command HQ on Carrier Strike, before commanding 3CRU with the Royal Australian Air Force in Australia. Returning to the UK, he served in ASACS before promoting to Wing Commander in 2016, and later became Deputy Commander at Joint GBAD HQ and Station Commander Thorney Island.

He commanded No.19 Sqn from 2021 and moved to SPO in the Ministry Of Defence in 2023. Promoted Group Captain in 2024, he joined HQ 2 Group and assumed command of the Air C2 Force in August 2026.
