THE SQUADRON

On 12 December 2023, the RAF Fylingdales Operations Squadron was awarded a Squadron numberplate and became No 2 Space Warning Squadron.  

No 2 Space Warning Squadron cements the UK’s role in providing world-leading Missile Warning and Space Surveillance and Tracking to partners and allies, helping us support a safer, more secure domain for all.

WHAT WE DO

No 2 Space Warning Squadron provides vital support to UK Space Command and allied operations. The squadron contributes to NATO security through global missile warning, and also supports Space Domain Awareness through the detection, tracking, and identification of objects in Space.
