6 Squadron are based at RAF Lossiemouth and are one of two Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) stations in the UK. They have completed over 50 years of continuous overseas service. Aircraft flown by the Squadron have included the Demon, Gauntlet, Canberra and Jaguar. 6 Squadron took part in the air action over Libya as part of Operation Ellamy.
