606 Sqn provides reservists in ground-support branches to reinforce the Support Helicopter Force within Joint Helicopter Command.
Steadfast in support
1939-The squadron code ‘BG’ was allocated to No. 606 Squadron RAuxAF, but it was not activated during the Second World War.
1996- Formed as the Helicopter Support Squadron of the RAuxAF at RAF Benson.
1999 – Awarded its 606 Squadron number after operations in the Balkans.
606 Squadron does not have any Battle Honours at this time.
