  • Based at RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire
  • It is the centre of Excellence of RAF Reserve Logistic Driver and supply training.
  • Recruits and trains Royal Air Force Police, Intelligence Analysts, Drivers, Chefs and Human Resources personnel.
  • After being disbanded in 1957 it was reformed in January 2015 at RAF Leeming and established within No 1 Group, Royal Air Force.


1930 – Formed at RAF Usworth flying Westland Wapitis.

1940 – Took part in the Battle of Britain flying Hawker Hurricanes.

1941 – First Squadron to operate the ‘Hurri’ bomber, the Hawker Hurricane with bombs attached.

1950 – Converted to flying Vampires until it was disbanded in 1957.

2015 – January 5th reformed as a General Service Support Squadron.
