1930 – Formed at RAF Usworth flying Westland Wapitis.
1940 – Took part in the Battle of Britain flying Hawker Hurricanes.
1941 – First Squadron to operate the ‘Hurri’ bomber, the Hawker Hurricane with bombs attached.
1950 – Converted to flying Vampires until it was disbanded in 1957.
2015 – January 5th reformed as a General Service Support Squadron.

RAF Policemen and women work to prevent and detect crime, ensuring the security of personnel, information, and equipment of RAF bases and on operations.
Plan, organise and prepare meals for our personnel at home, overseas, on the ground and in the air. RAF Chefs also cater for VIPs and cook in the field under canvas.
