THE SQUADRON
71 Inspection & Repair Squadron falls under 42 Expeditionary Support Wing of the Support Force. The Squadron aims to deliver engineering manufacture and design capabilities in deployed locations, to repair damaged structures on fixed-wing military aircraft.
The aircraft mechanical technicians are skilled in precision metalwork and the use of composite materials like carbon fibre; they must often work to provide repair solutions in circumstances where conventional fixes may not be effective.
