1958 – Formed as 7630 Flight RAF Volunteer Reserve to provide a pool of Russian linguists.
1972 – Broadened Intelligence roles to provide analysis and briefing capabilities.
1997 – Became 7630(VR) Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force.
2003 – 2014 - deployed in support of Op TELIC and Op HERRICK .
2017 – Re-roled to become a Subject Matter Expert squadron within the Intelligence Reserves Wing.
